JAN 2025: PLEASE NOTE; DUE TO INCREASED DEMAND, OUR WAITLIST IS CLOSED TO ANY NEW APPLICATIONS FOR THE NEXT 6 MONTHS

Hours & Fees
Monday to Friday 7:45am - 5:30pm (last booking 5:15pm)
We close on all statutory holidays and during the period between Christmas and New Years. See key dates.
From 1 January 2025 our centre's rates are $6.75 per hour.
Booking Times
We ask that parents adhere to their booked hours when dropping off and picking up your child. Early arrivals or late pick-ups can result in the Centre being over the teacher/child ratio and not meeting the strict Ministry of Education requirements. It will also result in the parent incurring an ‘Out of Hours’ penalty fee, as per our Attendance and Related Charges policy (a copy of which is included in the enrolment pack).
Day Sheet/Sign In Sheet
The Day Sheet, also referred to as the sign in sheet, is located in the foyer when you enter the Centre. When you drop off and pick up your akonga from the Centre we ask that you write the time and initial in the space provided beside your child’s name. This sheet assists with invoicing and roll call in case of an emergency.
Picking Up Arrangements
Safety for our children is paramount, please be aware that we will not let your child leave our Centre with anyone else apart from you, the parent/caregiver, unless they are authorised on your child’s enrolment form to do so. If you require someone other than those on your list, you will need to include them on your child’s enrolment form before the pick up is arranged. If you are unable to adjust the form, we require written confirmation via email.
Absences
Refer to our Attendance and Related Charges Policy for the required notification periods and associated charges.
Frequent Absent Rule ~ A child’s attendance must match their enrolment agreement for at least half (i.e. 50 percent or more) of each calendar month. This rule is governed by the Ministry of Education which impacts the funding our Centre receives. If your child’s booking falls under this rule then the Centre may have to look at adjusting your child’s booking to reflect their attendance.
Parking
We ask that parents DO NOT park up the Centre’s driveway.
This is a restriction governed under the Centre’s Resource Consent which allows access to staff and emergency services and also provides for safety reasons for both children coming to and from our Centre as well as for children attending the neighbouring primary school, The Terrace. The street can get very busy between 8.30am – 9am and 2.50pm – 3.10pm, making it very difficult to reverse out of the driveway.
Medication
If your child requires medication to be administered while they are in the Centre’s care, please notify a staff member directly outlining what is required then write the instructions on the Medication Register which is located on the kitchen wall above the food trolley. Please note that in our Centre’s Medication and Allergies Procedure, Pamol will only be administered at the request of parents for the relief of teething pain. If your child requires Pamol for any other reason, they should remain at home.
Change in Hours Notification
Email is the easiest and most convenient way to change your child’s hours, however, you can also ring the Centre, (448 7641) between 9 am – 3 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday and talk to the Office Manager. It is very easy for messages to go astray when teachers are on the floor so we cannot guarantee your request will be actioned if you pass the message on to one of them. Hours, both permanent & casual, can be changed where space is available. The Centre’s licence means we can take no more than 31 children at any one time but we have decided to cap this at 30 per day to keep the numbers lower and is based on teacher/child ratios during certain periods of the day.
